Meet the Crew
Passing Dover und nun querab Amsterdam:
Wir können windtechnisch leider nichts Neues berichten, Flaute oder sehr leichte Winde! Nach mehrstündigen Duell mit wechselnden Windrichtungen, Windstärken und regem Kontakt mit der Dover Traffic Control, sind wir jetzt wieder auf Spur. Wir kämpfen konzentriert.
Zur Auflockerung eine kleine Beschreibung der Crewmitglieder unter dem Motto “ Main Characteristics „:

Passing Dover and now straight off Amsterdam:
Sadly we do not have any news for you, still no winds to very lull winds! After an hourlong battle with constantly changing wind directions, wind strengths and even some contact with the Dover Traffic Control, we are back on track and in concentrated fight mode.
To pass the time we would like to introduce the team and their ‚main characteristics‘ as has become evident on this journey:
Hans, der Skipper mit Überblick und Gespür für das Befinden der Crew.
Hans the skipper with an overview and a certain feel for the mood of the Crew.
Ollie, der Boat Captain, der das Schiff am Besten kennt und uns momentan taktisch schlau durch den Kanal schleust.
Ollie the boat captain, knows the boat better than anyone else and is currently our English-channel-tactician.
Andreas, der Wachführer und unter dem Namen „Turbohorst “ immer gut für eine Speedverbesserung.
Andreas the shift leader and under his nickname Turbohorst always good for some tactical Adjustments.
Thorsten, der kühle Navigator, der uns immer wieder mit Fakten versorgt.
Thorsten our levelheaded navigator always providing us with the important Facts.
Jam (Jan), der Segelmacher und mit Verlaub gesagt wichtigste Mann seit Lizard Point (auch vorher), da er unseren Spi (A2) sehr durabel repariert hat!
Jam (Jan), sailmaker and by far the most important person on board since Lizard Point and before as we have been ripping through our spinnakers on a daily Basis.
York, der Proviantmeister (sehr gesund) und Koch, nun im der 3er Wachsystem auch Wachführer und immer auf der Suche nach Optimierungen.
York, master of provisioning (very healthy!) and our ’smutje‘ (chef aboard), in the new shift system also one of the shift leaders and always looking to optimise.
Jack, der “ Bowman and Youngster “ unter dem Namen „Skinny“ auch bekannt für seine unerschrockenen Mastkletteraktionen und auch sonst für Alles zu haben.
Jack our ‚bowman and youngster“, also called ‚Skinny‘ and known for his fearless climbing of the mast should need be.
Stephan, unser „Doctore“ (hat wirklich alles dabei bis zum “ Rücken Tape“) und „by the way“ Folkeboot/Drachen Allrounder.
Stephan, our doctor aboard (came well prepared – even brought some muscle tape for the back) and (by the way) Folkeboot/Drachen Sailor at home.
Philip, unser NRV „Admiral“ (die Mütze sagt alles) und sehr motivierend da immer gut gelaunt.
Philip, our NRV admiral (the hat says it all) and highly motivating since he has (for some reason) never been seen being in a bad mood.
Und „last but not least“ Ulf, der Schreiberling, Assistenzkoch (überrascht gern mit leckeren Schmackos), Allrounder und irgendwie auch Staff Captain, da nur ein sauberes Schiff ein schnelles Schiff ist.
And last but not least Ulf, the writer, assistant chef (knows how to lift spirits with a small snack), Allrounder and somehow staff captain (since only a clean boat is also a fast boat!).
